Resonant Scattering of Radiation Belt Electrons by Off-Equatorial Magnetosonic Waves Fast magnetosonic (MS) waves are commonly regarded as electromagnetic waves that are characteristically confined within \textpm3\textdegree of the geomagnetic equator.
